Crazy Kid

Droid

Nicholas was telling me about a Star Wars droid he wanted that lives under the concrete and then comes back out.  I asked him to draw it for me.

I couldn’t believe that I knew exactly which one he was talking about just by the picture he drew. Check it out – it even has two of it’s legs with feet and two with the pincher things – and yes I’m pretty sure that is the technical name :)   I love it!

My Preschooler

Last Friday was Nicholas’ first real day of preschool.  I thought he would be nervous about being there by himself.  When I went to hug him goodbye and mentioned I’d be picking him up soon and he said, “I know that already mom”.  Like he’d been doing it for years.

After I picked him up I tried to find how it went.  I had to ask him lots of questions otherwise he wouldn’t say much, so I asked him if he sang any songs.  He told me they sang ‘o-sally-o’s’.  I couldn’t figure out what that song was until I remembered at the visiting day his teachers sang a song called ‘Adios, Adios’.  I laughed so hard when I figured it out :)

So here are some pictures of my school boy on his first day with the backpack he picked out himself

The preschoolers all get a locker this year and on visiting day we decorated a star to hang on it with his picture

Unfortunately I only had my point & shoot so I ended up with a blurry picture of Nicholas adding his dried fruit to the friendship mix

It didn’t take him long to find the train table!

Summertime

The summer is flying by and I haven’t posted in what seems like forever.  Here is a little of what we’ve been up to this summer

Sylvia loved helping ‘mom’ in the garden.  Its actually my mom’s garden – but since I call her mom, Sylvia does too.   I am not sure she was much help with the strawberries.  Her idea of helping is really just eating them.  Hopefully Grandma enjoyed the company anyway :)

Nicholas got better at shootin hoops.

Sylvia wasn’t too fond of sparklers, but loves ice cream and her cousins.

Nicholas too!

Two-Wheelers & Ice Cream

On Tuesday, Scott already replaced the tire on Nicholas’ three month old bike. Nicholas flies down the driveway and slams on his brakes to make skid marks and the other day it just popped. Before Scott put the training wheels back on, we thought we would take him to the shop and try teaching him to ride his bike without them. I never in a million years thought he would get it that night let alone the very first time. Here is a video of his second attempt and as you can tell I was quite excited for him :)

And here are a few pictures of the kids at the ice cream store tonight
